Membership
A fee is charged on Initiation which includes registration with UGLE and the Province of Chesire.
Thereafter a Subscription is due in November in year (currently, £114).
During each Lodge meeting, a collection is taken for Charity. The amount given may vary from £1
upwards, according to individual choice. Some members will also sign a Covenant. The Lodge thereby
can claim certain tax benefits to enhance contributions.
Following each meeting, the Lodge dines at Oaklands Hall - at a Festive, or Social Board. The usual cost for a
meal is £15, with a reduced charge for visitors.
It is customary to hold a raffle, after each meal. The usual price of a single ticket is £1.00. Proceeds go to the Lodge Charity Account.
Clothing and Regalia
To begin with, you will need to possess a dark suit and a white shirt. It will also be necessary to obtain a black tie and white cotton gloves. A dinner suit will be required for certain formal functions and events, such as Ladies Nights.
Once the 3rd Degree Ceremony has been completed, this brings eligibility to join other Masonic Orders, often referred to as "Degrees" - and to incur associated costs. All is entirely a matter of choice for the individual. None of this is ever compulsory.
There are no other costs, until a Masonic career has greatly advanced (usually, in terms of years). These expenses tend to be associated with being elected to occupy the Master’s Chair. Similarly, there are personal costs attached to appointments to the rank of a Provincial Grand Lodge Officer.
